Sucess for Mercia FR at Ras Tarrenhendre
Mercia FR went mob-handed to the first race of the 2024 Welsh Championship, Ras Tarrenhendre and came away with considerable success. Dan Connolly was 1st overall in an extremely impressive time of 49:35. He was ably supported by Jack Agnew (3rd overall; 52:10) and Oli Cox (15th; 01:01:21) to win the Men's Team prize. Nicola Richards, Mercia's only female representative on the day, turned in an exceptional performance to finish 2nd woman (25th overall; 1:04:15). Mark Pearson was 1st MV60 (50th; 1:12:58) despite a body/ground interface during the race. John Langton (54th; 1:13:23) would have finished higher but for an inadvertant 2km detour. Other Mercians: Tom Treasure (17th; 1:01:38), John Atyeo (21st; 1:03:07), Mike Frost (28th; 1:05:20), Mark Agnew (32nd; 1:07:30). The event was expertly staged by the Meirionnydd Running Club and the weather was superb!
